Even when the birds don’t cooperate, Dixie Ann and I make it into a training session. One of my favorite parts of being outdoors is making memories with this pup.

From being stationed here at Ft. Wainwright (Alaska) I’ve learned a lot about the hunting here. I would advise people not to take this place as a joke or something that would be easy. I’ve walked over 15 miles thru three foot of snow to get my first winter caribou and walk wetlands to just even see anything. The views here are breathtaking and the winters are harsh but as long as you trust in your gear and put in the work you will be very successful here in the last frontier! I’ll never forget the memories made to meeting new people who have the same passion as me and I’ll cherish these moments forever!

Don’t wait until the week of season to practice shooting. I practice at least once a week through the summer in various conditions to make sure I am ready when the moment comes. My leupold VX5 takes all the guess work out of the long shots

Cervicider Dan Anderson and I did one last inspection of our dual filming set on our Hawk Cruzr stands. While up there we set up our Glendel 3D buck in all possible shooting lanes so we can we sure our target bucks will not surprise us next weekend. Practice makes perfect and we covered all assets to ensure we get that big buck on film here in North Jersey.

Best trail cam pictures using my mock scrape technique. Not a lot of action in West Virginia but hoping to get a lot more when I get my scrapes laid in Ohio!

We'd like to think it's Christmas in July...anyone getting new gear before season starts?
Nice set up, Blake!

Summer Scouting, checking cameras, stands, feeders, mineral and salt spots. Deer love to cross this area and bed down in the hayfield before morning feedings.
